We believe Guinea has so much youths who are gifted with a lot of talents and potentials. Far from boasting about our achievements, we believe we are living examples of the potential our country has to offer. In fact, we have no doubt that there are thousands of other young Guineans who are smarter than us but were not as lucky and privileged as we’ve been.
By starting the Guinean Young Leaders Initiative, we do not see ourselves as saviors who will tackle Guinea's challenges in one night but rather as agents of positive change who will face those challenges with purpose, determination and care.
Without ethical leadership, there can be no progress. Ethical leadership creates the stability necessary for a society to work on itself to become a stronger nation. Through the Guinean Young Leaders Initiative, we envision creating a sustainable ecosystem that will help create the stability Guinea needs to nurture, in a healthy and progressive way, entrepreneurs who will unlock the full socio-economic potential of the country, and an innovative education system that will identify, develop and connect Guinea's most promising young leaders to the resources needed to grow and the best opportunities to succeed in Guinea. Simply put, we are committed to working to ensure Guinea's most talented young people have access to a world-class education in Guinea, stay in Guinea, and can themselves create the socio-economic opportunities the country needs to thrive.
This is a lifelong mission that we cannot accomplish alone. The support of any person or entity that believes in and aligns with our mission, vision and values is more than welcome.
Whether it is Guinea, Africa, or the world at large, individualism has never led to sustainable progress. Starting from its leaders, what Guinea needs more than anything is a stronger unity of its people.
We believe that every human being should strive to live a just life. This is what makes the constant teaching of Ethical Leadership to ourselves and to others a lifetime mission.
"Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world" Nelson Mandela once said. We could not agree more. At the Guinean Young Leaders Initiative, we envision creating an environment where receiving a good quality education is the least of people's worries, especially for young Guinean girls.
Both the Government and private sectors play a significant role in driving a country's economic growth. Without entrepreneurs, there would be little innovation, little productivity growth, and fewer jobs. We aspire to empower Guinea's future entrepreneurs to unleash the country's full potential and build a prosperous nation.
Courage is the driver of all aspirations. It took courage to Wangari Maathai, Patrice Lumumba and Nelson Mandela to be the agents of positive change we all aspire to be today. In this initiative we're starting, we shall do what is right with courage by serving others, and by learning from them to grow, and become better human beings.
